 I have always loved photographs - putting them into albums, making photo books and calendars - but I never spent time learning how to take better photos. In the last year I decided to see what my iPhone camera was capable of by learning how to use all the features.  Along the way I explored principles of composition and how to use various editing tools to enhance my photos. I'm still learning, but loving the journey!

As a Biology teacher, I tend to be most drawn to photography of plants and animals, particularly macro shots. Living in a beach town on the north shore of Long Island, NY has also provided beautiful seascapes and sunsets as photography subjects. When I have time to travel, I now try to book destinations that are particularly beautiful and photogenic - such as Iceland in the glacier photo above!
